Concurrent to Jupiter, he is part of 2 firms focused on high-potential private market opportunities in cleantech, medical, and other technology innovations, and helped found a long/short global public equities investment firm that has demonstrated consistent alpha creation.
Professionally, AJ has a diverse academic & work background, with a particular interest in financial, early-stage, and other collaborative working environments such as Jupiter.
He has 10+ years of experience with both public and private investing roles within the financial industry, including equity research, PE/VC, valuation, investment due diligence, qualitative & quantitative analysis
He began his career working for a mid-market PE/VC fund, and also co-founded and served in a C-level role for an award-winning biomedical engineering startup.
He earned a degree in Finance, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame, where he was selected to be a member of the prestigious Applied Investment Management honors finance course where students manage a portion of the University endowment under the guidance of the Chief Investment Officer.
AJ also holds a J.D. with Dean's List honors & a concentration in business enterprise (selected coursework taken through the Kellogg School of Management) from Northwestern University.
Based in Chicago, Illinois, AJ is a proud CFA Charterholder, is an active Candidate Member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago where he serves on its Professional Development Advisory Group Board, and is a member of Irish Entrepreneurs & Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs.
